(including its business operations and related entities such as PSW Energy and Perth Solar Warehouse, where applicable — together referred to in this Policy as “McKercher Corporation”)

1. Purpose
1.1 This Policy sets out McKercher Corporation’s commitments and minimum requirements for Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) across our operations, including the supply of solar PV, energy storage (batteries), EV charging solutions and related services in Western Australia.
1.2 Our mission is to enhance sustainable energy adoption through digitalisation and high-performing field and office operations—without compromising safety, environmental responsibility, or quality.
2. Scope
2.1 This Policy applies to:
(a) all workers (employees/contractors/labour hire/apprentices/volunteers) engaged by McKercher Corporation;
(b) officers and managers of McKercher Corporation;
(c) subcontractors and suppliers where McKercher Corporation can control or influence outcomes; and
(d) visitors to workplaces and sites under McKercher Corporation’s control.
2.2 This Policy operates alongside applicable procedures, SWMS/JHAs, manuals, and customer/site requirements.
3. Our HSEQ objectives
3.1 McKercher Corporation pursues the following objectives:
(a) protect the health and safety of our workers and other persons affected by our activities;
(b) reduce environmental impacts and support sustainability outcomes;
(c) embed governance, risk management and compliance into decision-making;
(d) maintain strong, ethical, and mutually beneficial relationships with customers, suppliers and workers;
(e) achieve consistent customer satisfaction through reliable service delivery; and
(f) generate a fair return on investment through disciplined and safe operations.
4. Legal and other obligations
4.1 McKercher Corporation will comply with all applicable HSEQ laws and obligations, including relevant work health and safety legislation, environmental legislation, codes of practice, standards, and customer/site requirements.
4.2 Where a customer, principal contractor, or site imposes additional HSEQ requirements, McKercher Corporation will take reasonable steps to ensure those requirements are understood and implemented where applicable.
5. Safety and health commitments
5.1 McKercher Corporation commits, so far as reasonably practicable, to:
(a) providing and maintaining safe workplaces, systems of work, plant and structures;
(b) identifying hazards and implementing controls using the hierarchy of control;
(c) consulting with workers and enabling participation in health and safety decision-making (including H&S representatives/committee where established);
(d) ensuring workers are competent, trained and supervised for their tasks;
(e) requiring fit-for-purpose PPE and enforcing critical risk controls;
(f) investigating incidents and near misses, learning from them, and preventing recurrence; and
(g) supporting worker wellbeing, including early reporting and appropriate injury management/return to work.
6. Environmental commitments
6.1 McKercher Corporation commits to minimising environmental impact and preventing pollution and environmental harm by:
(a) managing waste responsibly (including packaging, metals, e-waste, and battery-related waste) and prioritising reuse/recycling where feasible;
(b) preventing spills and controlling hazardous substances (including correct storage, labelling, transport and disposal);
(c) reducing emissions and resource consumption (fuel, energy, water) through efficient planning and operational practices;
(d) considering environmental impacts across the lifecycle of products and materials we procure and install; and
(e) meeting applicable environmental approvals, conditions, and reporting requirements relevant to our activities.
7. Quality commitments
7.1 McKercher Corporation commits to delivering consistent, compliant, high-quality outcomes by:
(a) defining service requirements and acceptance criteria (including customer and regulatory requirements);
(b) using competent workers and approved tools/materials suited to the job;
(c) maintaining accurate documentation and records (e.g., test results, commissioning records, photos, checklists);
(d) managing non-conformances (NCRs), corrective actions and preventive actions; and
(e) using customer feedback and performance data to improve service delivery.
8. Governance, roles and responsibilities
8.1 Officers and senior leaders of McKercher Corporation will exercise due diligence by ensuring appropriate HSEQ resources, systems, reporting, and verification activities are in place.
8.2 Managers and supervisors are responsible for implementing this Policy and ensuring:
(a) risks are assessed and controlled before work starts;
(b) work is planned with safe methods (SWMS/JHAs where required);
(c) workers are trained, inducted, and supervised; and
(d) incidents are reported and investigated.
8.3 Workers and contractors must:
(a) take reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of others;
(b) follow instructions, procedures and site rules;
(c) use required controls and PPE;
(d) stop work and escalate if conditions are unsafe; and
(e) promptly report hazards, incidents and near misses.
8.4 Health and Safety Team / H&S Committee will support consultation, inspections, toolbox talks, and continuous improvement initiatives for McKercher Corporation.
9. Risk management and consultation
9.1 McKercher Corporation will maintain a structured approach to hazard identification, risk assessment and control, including:
(a) pre-start planning and job risk assessment;
(b) verification of critical controls for high-risk tasks, example: working at heights, electrical isolation, roof work, manual handling;
(c) consultation with workers on matters affecting their health and safety; and
(d) periodic review of controls and procedures, especially after incidents or operational changes.
10. Reporting, investigations and corrective action
10.1 All incidents, injuries, near misses, hazards and environmental events must be reported as soon as practicable via the ServiceM8 report and by completing the internal incident form.
10.2 McKercher Corporation will investigate events proportionate to risk and consequence, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and verify effectiveness.
11. Competency, training and communication
11.1 McKercher Corporation will ensure workers have the competencies, licences, and authorisations required for their role.
11.2 McKercher Corporation will provide inductions, ongoing training, and refresher programs, including for contractors where applicable.
11.3 McKercher Corporation will use toolbox talks, safety alerts, and lessons learned communications to strengthen HSEQ culture.
12. Contractor and supplier management
12.1 McKercher Corporation expects contractors and suppliers to meet McKercher Corporation’s HSEQ requirements and applicable law.
12.2 McKercher Corporation will assess contractor capability, require appropriate insurances and compliance evidence, and monitor performance during engagement.
13. Continual improvement and review
13.1 McKercher Corporation commits to continual improvement of HSEQ systems through:
(a) measurable objectives and targets;
(b) audits, inspections and management reviews;
(c) analysis of incidents, near misses, complaints and performance trends; and
(d) corrective and preventive actions.
13.2 This Policy will be reviewed at least annually, and also following significant incidents, operational changes, or relevant legal/regulatory updates.
14. Policy availability
14.1 This Policy will be communicated to workers and made available to relevant stakeholders via: intranet, website updates, and HSEQ manual on Drive.
