New field leadership appointments at McKercher Corporation

McKercher Corporation has appointed Taylor Cooper as Field Supervisor and Daniel Kohn as his leading hand. The two roles formalise the leadership structure of the company’s field operation: the part of the business that turns a signed design into a working, commissioned system on a customer’s roof or wall.

For a clean energy installer, the on-site work is where the standard is either met or missed. A quote is a promise; the install is the proof. These appointments put a defined chain of accountability behind that work, from the first site visit through to handover.

Key points

As Field Supervisor, Taylor Cooper leads on-site delivery. That covers scheduling crews, maintaining quality and safety standards on every job, and serving as the point of accountability between the field and the rest of the business. Daniel Kohn steps up as leading hand, coordinating the crew on the ground and translating the supervisor’s standard into daily practice on site. Together, the two roles give every install a defined chain of responsibility, from the first site visit through to handover.

The field sets the standard

The field is the engine room of the business. A design can be sound and a product first-rate, but the customer experiences the install: the cable runs, the mounting, the commissioning, the tidy handover at the end. Defined leadership is what keeps that consistent across multiple crews and a high volume of jobs.

It is also where the company’s certifications stop being paperwork and become practice. ISO 9001 quality and ISO 45001 safety are upheld on site, job by job, by the people doing the work. Clear field leadership is what enables those standards to hold under real conditions.

Built on team buy-in

Defined leadership only works with the team behind it. Field performance lifts when crews understand the standard, take ownership of it, and have the backing of the wider organisation: scheduling, procurement, engineering, and customer support. Cooper and Kohn’s appointments sit inside that structure rather than on top of it. The aim is a field operation where leadership is clear, and the whole team is invested in the result.

McKercher Corporation will keep investing in its field capability as installation volumes grow across its operating brands, Perth Solar Warehouse and PSW Energy. Clear leadership on-site is how the group intends to maintain its delivery standards.
