The downloadable REC Alpha installer manual is comprehensive, helping to determine location-specific best practice installation practices to ensure the anticipated life and performance of REC Alpha Pure solar panels. The following content highlights summarised touchpoints to assist interpretation before heading to a site ahead of installation.

It’s important to reinforce that REC’s Alpha Pure solar panels are a blue-chip solar module investment for purchasers. Accurate installation is the responsibility of REC-certified installers, adding improved value to the REC Protrust warranty activated upon installation.

Safety Measures

Every employee has the right to return home safely each day. Always pay special attention to your surroundings and safety. Beyond individual safety, it’s important to treat solar panels with care to ensure ongoing product integrity and public safety through accurate implementation.

Electric Shock:

Remember that solar panels generate DC current, and any loose connection can cause an electrical arc, posing a severe burn and fire hazard. If you are performing maintenance on an existing solar energy system, always disconnect the system from the grid before performing maintenance or repair work.

Working at Heights:

When working on rooftops or raised platforms, adhere to all safety regulations regarding fall protection. Ensure the working surfaces are stable and capable of supporting your weight and equipment.

Panel Handeling:

  • Use clean, protective gloves to avoid contaminating the glass surface.
  • Do not allow panels to sag or bow when carrying them.
  • Do not stand or walk on the panels.
  • Protect panels from damage and store them in a controlled environment.

Installation Location

In most instances, REC Alpha solar panels possess superior specifications for diverse installation environments. However, it’s important to understand aspects that may reduce life expectancy or performance for the intended guarantee period.

Suitable locations:

REC Alpha Pure-RX panels are designed for installations up to 2000 meters above sea level and can withstand temperatures as low as -40°C.

Unsuitable locations:

Avoid installing panels near flammable materials, open flames, salt water, water features, sulphur sources, or areas exposed to harmful chemicals.

Electrical Installation

Updating…

System requirements:

Ensure compatibility between the panels and other system components to prevent mechanical or electrical damage.

String configuration:

Follow the inverter manufacturer’s instructions for string configuration. Do not exceed the maximum voltage limits.  REC’s HJT solar panels have unique Voltage and Current characteristics compared to mainstream N-Type TOPCon panels

Wiring Layout:

Bundle cables together to minimise voltage surges and always observe correct DC polarity.

Mechanical Installation

Updating…

Fire Guidelines:

Always adhere to local fire safety requirements, but for required operational air circulation, maintain a minimum distance of 20mm between the panel and the mounting surface.

Orientation:

Install panels at the optimal orientation and tilt angle to maximise system output.

Panel installation:

Ensure the mounting structure can withstand anticipated wind and weight loads. For cooling, maintain a minimum clearance gap of 20mm between the panel and the roof surface.

Securing Panels:

Secure the REC Alpha Pure panels using approved rails and clamps while following the mounting hardware manufacturer’s instructions. Ensure the clamps are within the required clamping zone.

Grounding/Earthing:

Ground the panels according to local regulations.

Interconnections:

Use UV-resistant cables and connectors that are approved for outdoor use. Choose the correct conductor gauge to minimise power losses. Ensure all connections are secure and tight.

Connectors:

For compatibility, use connectors of the same type and system rating. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for connecting and disconnecting connectors.

Cable management:

Ensure cables have a minimum bending radius of 30mm. Secure cables firmly to the structure without over-tightening. Do not add extra protection to the connectors.

Panel Maintenance

Updating…

Cleaning:

Clean panels when dirt is visible on the surface. Use deionised water and a soft brush or cloth. Avoid high-pressure hoses or cleaning agents.

System inspection:

Regularly inspect the system to ensure all fasteners, connections, and grounding points are secure and free of corrosion.

Recycling and Disposal

Updating…

Recycling:

Recycle panel packaging according to the organisation’s ISO-certified Environmental management plan.

Disposal:

Dispose of panels at the end of their useful life according to local regulations.

To assist in discerning different criteria, we’ve broken this Sigenergy installer training into two parts: Essential Learning and Supplementary Learning.

Essential Learning

Essential Sigenergy installer training is focused on the foundational products of the Sigenstor system: the Sigen Energy Controller and Sigen Battery units. All other components for installer training are covered in the Supplementary Sigenergy Installer Training modules.

Download the Installer App

A modern requirement, all new sustainable energy systems commence with the need to download the manufacturer’s nominated installer app for effective commissioning.

Before You Begin:

Download the App. The modern sustainable energy electrician now has installer apps as part of their tool kit. It’s advised to ensure you’re a registered installer before attempting to install Sigenergy Sigenstor. PSW Energy and Perth Solar Warehouse staff should have installer access (contact Projects). Sigenergy’s appeal is its software and function through a digitally enhanced user experience. One should not install SigenStor without pre-downloading the ‘mySigen app’ for a seamless commissioning process.

Step 1: Download “mySigen” App by searching in the App store or GooglePlay (alternatively, scan the QR code).

Step 2: Register on Sigenergy as an installer.

Step 3: Visit “Support” on official website of Sigenergy to learn knowledge and get the installation manual.

Step 4: Prepare itools including personal protective equipment (PPE) and installation tools according to the manual.

Step by Step Installation Guide

New product concepts can appear daunting. But every now and again, a new technology arrives and simplifies the installer process through improved design. However, it’s important to understand the recommended installer training concepts prior to attempting installation. Welcome to the game-changing Sigenergy Sigenstor sustainable energy system.  Here’s a brief step-by-step guide with links to further resources if required:

Installation:

The beauty of SigenStor for installers is its modular, all-in-one design and rapid fast commissioning. It is recommended to watch the video relating to the installation of Sigenergy SigenStor (below) to visually grasp the installation process.

Step 1: Take the mounting base out of packaging and place it on flat surface.

Step 2: Use the measure template to mark mounting holes for the battery and inverter (‘PACK’ pin-points ‘SigenStor’ BAT, and ‘INV’ pin-points ‘SigenStor’ EC/AC). Drill the mounting holes and install ‘M8’ expansion bolts.

Step 3: Use the handle to lift the battery to avoid injury. Keep the battery horizontal, then place it onto the base.

Step 4: The procedure of placing ‘SigenStor’ EC/AC is the same as placing ‘SigenStor’ BAT.

Step 5: Fasten battery-to-battery, battery-to-inverter with cascaded plates on both sides. Fasten the battery and inverter to the wall with corresponding connecting plate.

Step 6: Connect cables according to the installation guide.

Step 7: Check all parts of Sigenstor are properly installed, and all modules including the inverter and battery are in normal condition.

Step 8: Login to mySigen App and scan the QR code on the packing list. Activate Sigenstor step by step following the commissioning guide.

Note: Ensure that the device is connected to the network through wired or WIFI. The device cannot be activated, and default connect to internet by 4G because the default data flow of 4G is 30MB/ month.
